    Farm subsidies should be reworked to encourage local markets (less transporting) and to discourage production of (mostly commodity) products that are in surplus.  Subsidizing over-produced crops only makes for higher production and more surplus.  We should encourage farmers to sustainably grow products that can be sold locally.

    This item needs to be moved to the new Agriculture section, and other issues considered there--e.g., creating local markets for local farm products, including in schools.
